People enjoyed flying kites and watching kites fly this past weekend when Rollie Fest was held on the grassy area at the intersection of 27th Street NW and Fourth Avenue NW in Minot. Kites were available for people to buy if they didn’t have one. The event honors the late Rollie Metz of Minot, an avid kite flier. The kite shown flying in the photo is owned by Chris Dodson of Jamestown. Paul Luetzen, Minot, an avid kite flier and organizer of the weekend event, said a kite fun fly is tentatively being planned at the same location in late September, depending on the weather.
