Ground to be broken for new firing range at Minot AFB

Sen. John Hoeven will help break ground on a new indoor firing range at Minot Air Force Base on Monday, according to a news release from his office.

The new range will allow the consolidation of four existing buildings while also reducing air quality concerns, providing higher quality training with lower maintenance costs and ensuring the range is available regardless of weather conditions.

The new indoor firing range cost $20 million to 25 million in fiscal year 2019 Military Construction funds, according to a Minot AFB report released earlier this year on military construction projects.
