Garrison daycare gets loan for expansion

GARRISON – A Garrison child care facility was awarded funds from the North Dakota Development Fund within the Department of Commerce at the fund’s board meeting in July.

Heidi Smith’s Daycare was approved for a $75,000 loan to expand the existing daycare. The NDDF partnered with USDA Rural Development in a total funding package of $150,000 for the project. The business provides daycare services in the Garrison area.

BNG Holdings, LLC, in Fargo also was approved for $110,000 for working capital needs. The company specializes in point-of-sale systems and merchant service transactions.

Paragon Pro Manufacturing Solutions, Inc., in Grand Forks was approved for $500,000 to purchase equipment and working capital. The company designs and manufactures ergonomic equipment used in the construction industry.

The NDDF was created in 1991 as an economic development tool. It provides flexible funding through debt and equity investments for new or expanding North Dakota primary sector businesses. The fund also manages a daycare loan program created by the North Dakota Legislature in 2009.
