Andrew Bruhn sentenced for stealing idling motor vehicle

Andrew Donald Bruhn, 48, will serve about two years in prison for stealing an idling Dodge Challenger RT that was parked outside the Dakota Inn in Minot on Jan. 6.

Court records show that Judge Gary Lee sentenced Bruhn to five years in prison, with a requirement that he serve two years. Bruhn will be on supervised probation for three years. He will receive credit for 220 days already served in jail.

The vehicle was recovered later that morning. The last four digits of the VIN number had been painted over on the hood and windshield.

Co-defendant Maria Gergen was sentenced in April to a year in jail, with a requirement that she serve 30 days, and two years of supervised probation.

Bruhn is already serving a two-year sentence in prison for delivery of methamphetamine.
