Suspect in Minot gas station robberies nabbed

Minot police announced Monday evening the arrest of a Burlington man believed to be responsible for robbing two area gas stations earlier this year.

According to police, at 2:53 p.m. Monday, officers responded to a report of another attempted robbery, at Racers gas station located at 1500 37th Ave SW. The suspect was unsuccessful in obtaining any money and fled the area before officers arrived.

Then, at 4:20 p.m., officers responded to a report of a theft that had occurred at the Quality Inn, located at 3916 N. Broadway.

In that incident the suspect reportedly had jumped over the unattended counter, took an undisclosed amount of money and fled the area.

The police report said investigation of those two incidents led to the identification of a suspect, Jordan Groninger, 29, of Burlington. Groninger was later located in northwest Minot by officers. In addition to Monday’s incidents, Groninger has also been charged in connection with two robberies that occurred at Minot businesses in late June of this year – a Shell gas station on June 23 and a Mobil gas station on June 30.
