Northwest Manure Compost Demo Day set
CARPIO – Crop and livestock producers, conservation boards and staff and others interested in composting will have an opportunity to learn more about it during the Northwest Manure Compost Demo Day being hosted Aug. 7 near Carpio by North Dakota State University’s Carrington Research Extension Center.
The event runs from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at Bloms Land & Cattle LLC. The site is northeast of Carpio at 7470 42nd Ave. NW. Watch for NDSU signs. No registration is required.
Topics that will be covered are:
– Turning manure into compost.
– Differences between manure and compost.
– Using compost in a cropping system.
The event also will include a compost turner demonstration and
question-and-answer session.
