Fair draws more than 25,000 on first day

The North Dakota State Fair recorded 25,616 visitors on the 2019 event’s first day on Friday.

Last year, the fair fell just short of breaking the attendance record with the second-highest total in 53 years. Last year’s event drew 318,348 people over nine days. The record was set in 2013, when 320,486 people went through the gates.

The peak day last year saw 51,972 people show up.
