Economic and city leaders from area communities gathered in Minot Tuesday to discuss shared concerns about workforce development, housing and community engagement.

The North Dakota Department of Commerce and Souris Basin Planning Council coordinated the cross-community discussion session through the Main Street Initiative. It was the second regional meeting of its type in the state through the initiative.

The group sought to brainstorm and share solutions to common issues that they hope to address to help their communities thrive.

A second statewide Main Street Summit is set for Oct. 29-31 in Bismarck. The summit is an opportunity for community leaders from across the state to network and learn.
