Enbridge holds annual BBQ fundraiser

Shyanne Belzer/MDN People lined up to get food at Enbridge’s annual barbecue fundraiser in the parking lot of Minot Arrowhead Mall’s Marketplace Foods.

Enbridge held their annual barbecue fundraiser Tuesday at the Minot Arrowhead Mall’s Marketplace Foods parking lot. The yearly event works to help a local business raise funds for a non-profit. This years funds went to Souris Valley United Way.

“Every year, more than 20 local agencies partner with the Souris Valley United Way and are granted funds for programs that directly impact our region,” said Wendy Pank, Enbridge community relations advisor in North Dakota. “Doing a local barbecue to help raise some attention and donations for these programs is a simple thing that we at Enbridge can do, and we love helping out where we can.”

The cost was $5 and Enbridge employees spent the barbecue cooking up burgers and brats and serving drinks, chips and ice cream.

According to a press release, two lunches at the barbecue will pay for one weekend of meals for a local child through Backpack Buddies.
