Creative Night Out brings talents to First Thursday events

Creative Night Out brings the diverse talents of the community to downtown Minot, running on the first Thursday of each month through Sept. This weeks event will take place on June 6 starting at 5:30 p.m.

Hot spots where music, snacks, sale specials and artist demonstrations will be featured include Artmain, Artspace Suite 1 Gallery, Artspace Residence Gallery, Atypical Brewery and Barrelworks, The Blue Rider, Budget Music and Video, Lien’s Jewelry, Main Street Books, Mainstream Boutique, Margie’s Art Glass, Michelle F, Off the Vine, Oliver’s Attic, Taube Museum of Art, The Tap Room, 62 Doors Gallery & Studios, Artist Booths, Farmers Market items, Street Musicians, and more.

Artspace Suite 1 Gallery will be featuring the “WhyNot Minot” exhibition. Linda Olson will be demonstrating wheel thrown pots, Kalyn Vadell will be demonstrating hand built ceramics and Nancy Walter’s Nancy’s Fancy’s Jewelry will be all set up and ready for the first summer’s event.

Minot Artspace Residence Gallery will feature artwork from their renters.

The featured music for the June Creative Night Out will be the Minot City Band, who will be kicking off the start of their 98th season. They will be performing on the corner of Main Street and First Avenue SE starting at 7 p.m.

Lien’s Jewelry will be showcasing their artwork by Andy Knudson and offering 15 percent off on any of his work during the Creative Night Out Event.

62 Doors will be featuring the “Nature” exhibit with art from local and regional artists. Enjoy wine and beer while exploring the gallery and checking out what their artists are up to in their studios.

The Taube Museum of Art’s Main Gallery will feature “Arcane,” a series expressionistic mixed-media paintings by artist Chase Lock.

Lock is originally a North Dakota native, but now working in Los Angeles, CA. His body of work is inspired by the textural value found in graffiti. He creates large scale paintings primarily in oil, bringing graffiti into the fine art realm balancing the sometimes chaotic nature of graffiti with the finesse of the fine art world.

Artmain will be hosting local artists Lynn Rogelstad, Arvin Davis, Tianna Sian, and Hannah artwork with sales and demos from the artists and Budget Music and Video will be hosting Wild Ruby Jewelry and offering 40 percent off used DVD and Blu-ray box sets.

Mainstreet Books will have $5 bag of used book sales and buy one get one for half off on Everything Kombucha.

Margie’s Art Glass is featuring a free mini sun catcher project and for those who love to play the Slug Bug game and VW enthusiasts can get a chance to check out old and new Volkswagens from the Mouse River VW Club and North Dakota Air Cooled (N.D.A.C.).

Local food trucks Dakota Burger Truck, Fun on a Bun Hot Dog stand and Scoops Ice Cream will all be there for attendees to purchase a bite to eat.
