North Dakota State Fair Writing Contest is accepting entries

People are invited to enter the North Dakota State Fair Writing Contest.

Cash prizes of up to $150 for best of show will be awarded in each of three divisions: Division A, for those ages 13 and younger; Division B, for those between the ages of 14 and 20; and Division C, for those older than than age 21. The top prize for best in the division is $35 for Division A, $40 for Division B, and $100 for Division C. Lesser cash prizes will be awarded for first, second, third, fourth place and for honorable mention.

Manuscripts should be sent to the North Dakota State Fair Writing Contest, Box 1796, Minot, N.D. 58702 by July 5.

Winning entries will be displayed during the State Fair.

Each North Dakota resident may enter up to three works in any form, such as short stories, poems, plays, essays, letters, and diaries. The maximum length for a work is 2,500 words.

The writer’s name, address, and division must be on the first page of each manuscript in the upper right-hand corner.

Photocopied manuscripts can be submitted. None of the manuscripts will be returned.
