Jeremy Feller, Velva, sentenced to prison for beating girlfriend, possession with intent to deliver

Jeremy Bryan Feller, 33, Velva, will serve about three years in prison for intent to deliver drugs on April 25 and for unlawful possession of a firearm.

Court records show that Judge Todd Cresap sentenced him to a total of five years on the Class A felony charge, with a requirement he serve three years, and three years of supervised probation. Feller will also be required to undergo a chemical dependency evaluation and to pay $1,600 in court costs.

Feller was seen running back and forth between houses, trying to evade an officer, on April 25. He was carrying a handgun and a backpack, which he disposed of while he was running. Both items were recovered. The backpack was found to contain one gram of black tar heroin, nine grams of methamphetamine, marijuana paraphernalia and two weigh scales.

Feller also pleaded guilty last week to unlawful possession of a firearm and received a sentence concurrent with the A felony charge.

The state dropped other charges under the terms of a plea deal.

Feller also pleaded guilty to beating his girlfriend during a domestic violence dispute on Oct. 31. For that A misdemeanor charge, he was sentenced to 360 days in jail, with a requirement he first serve 180 days, and two years of supervised probation. He will receive credit for 30 days served. The sentence is concurrent with the others. He was also ordered to have no contact with the victim and to complete a class for domestic violence offenders.

Feller also pleaded guilty to possession of drug paraphernalia in another case and was sentenced to three years in prison, with a requirement he serve 18 months, and two years of supervised probation. That sentence is also concurrent with the others. In addition, Feller pleaded guilty to resisting an arrest, a Class C felony, and was sentenced to 360 days in jail, with a requirement he serve 30 days. That sentence is also concurrent with all the others.
