Congressional delegation: Stand with people of Venezuela

North Dakota’s congressional delegation members have commented on the uprising unfolding in Vene-zuela.

“I stand with the people of Vene-zuela,” said Sen. Kevin Cramer. “This is not an ‘attempted coup.’ This is an oppressed people rising up to a dictatorial government in order to secure basic human rights. Anyone debating whether to stand with those seeking freedom should remember our history. As a nation founded by brave patriots who sought freedom from tyranny and recognition of our unalienable rights, the United States must now stand united in support of those seeking the same.”

Sen. John Hoeven said, “The United States stands united with the people of Venezuela and their chosen leader Juan Guaido as they fight for their freedom and stand up against Maduro.”

Congressman Kelly Armstrong said, “The United States stands with the people of Venezuela and their president, Juan Guaido. Nicolas Maduro’s time has come to an end and all those backing his despotic regime must stand down. Now is the time for the Venezuelan people to self-govern and take back their freedom.”
