Christopher Saenz, Minot, sentenced for criminal trespass
Christopher Michael Saenz, 24, was sentenced Thursday to 360 days in jail, all suspended but the 51 days he has already served, and one year of supervised probation for trespassing at his ex-girlfriend’s residence on June 4, 2018.
Judge todd Cresap also ordered Saenz to have no contact with his ex-girlfriend and to pay $1,322.55 in court costs. If he successfully completes probation, the Class C felony criminal trespass charge will be deemed a Class A misdemeanor.
According to a probable cause affidavit filed with the court, Saenz struck his ex-girlfriend on the chin and they argued in front of their daughter. The victim told police she was used to Saenz hitting her and it didn’t hurt. She told him not to hit her and he denied that he had hit her. The woman’s friend then came upstairs and told Saenz to leave. As he left, Saenz tried to slam the screen door and then kicked it from the outside and broke the bottom half of the door.
