Brine spill occurs at site near Stanley

STANLEY – A pipeline leak on location caused the release on Saturday of 500 barrels of brine at the Whiting Oil and Gas Corporation’s Anderson 11-7H central tank battery, about 12 miles southwest of Stanley.

BNN North Dakota, LLC, reported the spill on the same day, according to the North Dakota Oil and Gas Division. At the time of reporting, 450 barrels of brine had been recovered. The product was contained on-site, and cleanup is underway.

A state inspector has been to the location and will monitor additional cleanup.
