Lewis & Clark Center to host tour

The Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center will host “The Insider Tour,” an opportunity to see behind-the-scenes at the Interpretive Center, on Saturday, March 9, at 2 p.m.

The tour will be led by the Center’s site manager and interpretive coordinator. It will reveal how traditional and interactive exhibits are assembled, how art and artifacts are protected from damage, and more. The tour culminates with a visit to the collections room, where more artifacts and art are stored than what one sees in the exhibits.

“The Insider Tour gives visitors a behind-the-scenes glimpse of what goes into preparing and maintaining exhibits, best practices for preserving artifacts, and overall maintenance of the museum. The tour highlights the importance of making both physical items and the ideas that go along with them last so that local culture and heritage is preserved for future generations,” said interpretive coordinator Dana Morrison-Lorenz.

Admission is $8 for adults and $5 for students. The Lewis & Clark Interpretive Center is located at the intersection of U.S. Highway 83 and N.D. Highway 200A in Washburn.
