Lance Peterson, Minot, sentenced for stealing from State Fair

Lance Roy Peterson, 51, Minot, was was given a suspended one year jail sentence and 18 months of supervised probation on Friday for stealing from the State Fair when he was working there in January 2017.

Peterson pleaded guilty to a Class C felony theft of property charge as well as to Class B misdemeanor theft charge.

According to court records, Peterson was also ordered to obtain a chemical dependency evaluation and to pay $525 in court costs. Restitution in the case is reserved for 90 days. Peterson was also ordered to stay away from the state fairgrounds.

According to the probable cause affidavit filed with the court, Peterson stole cleaning wipes, a half-used box of trash can bags, a rug, three LED light bulbs, an Echo Dot, and a red dolly cart with a power box and wiring connected to it valued at $1,200 from the State Fair.

Peterson was previously fired for stealing.
