‘Women Caring for the Land’ event set for Tuesday
“Women Caring for the Land,” a woman centered morning of learning, followed by lunch and a tour of Gail Yuly’s ranch at Berthold, will be held Tuesday.
Those who would like to attend should immediately contact Cayla Bendel at 701-498-2920 or email cbendel@pheasantsforever.org.
The learning event will be from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. at 1101 310th Street SW, Berthold.
Participants will learn how Yuly integrates cover crops into their operation as a part of the Conservation Stewardship Program, enrolls erodible lands in the Conservation Reserve Program, and how both of these programs benefit soil health.
Paige Brummund, Ward County Extension agent-agriculture and natural resources, will speak on grazing management practices and Jerry Wingenbach, NRCS, will lead the field soil demonstration.
The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service will discuss pollinators present on the Yuly ranch and the native forbs that provide their habitat.
Those attending should dress to be outside in the afternoon.
