Savanna Knudson, Minot, given suspended sentence, probation for spitting at police officer

Savanna Dawn Knudson, 21, Minot was given a one year suspended sentence and two years of supervised probation on Friday for spitting on a Minot police officer on July 21.

According to the probable cause affidavit, officers were called to take Knudson for detox after she was found sitting on the ground near a building at the intersection of 1st Street SE and East Central Avenue at about 1 a.m. She was taken to the Trinity Hospital emergency room for treatment and to be medically cleared before being taken to the jail. She spit in the face of one of the officers in the emergency room. She later apologized.

Knudson pleaded guilty to the Class C felony charge of contact by body fluids.

Court records show that Judge Stacy Louser also ordered Knudson to obtain a chemical dependency evaluation and to participate in Ward County’s 24/7 Sobriety Program. She must also pay $525 in court costs. She will receive credit for three days spent in the Ward County Jail.
