Suspects sought in robbery

Gun used in late morning home invasion

Two men, one of whom was armed with a handgun, entered a residence on Sixth Street NW about 11 a.m. Tuesday. They confronted a resident there and demanded “stuff.” After ransacking and taking a number of items from the home, including several guns, the two men searched a backyard shed before fleeing from the scene.

Although the resident was shaken by the brazen daylight incident no one was harmed, including an 8-month-old child who was in the home at the time. Minot Police immediately began a search for the suspects but no arrests had been made as of presstime Tuesday.

The robbers reportedly stated they had been watching the house for several days prior to making their armed entrance. Based on statements made at the scene and the actions of the perpetrators, it was apparent they knew where the firearms were stored. They wrapped the firearms in a blanket in order to carry them away.

According to social media accounts, the suspects are described as “younger African American men with Southern accents.”

Minot Police continue to investigate and are seeking public assistance from anyone who may have seen the two men, the vehicle they were driving or any other information regarding the robbery.
