New signs welcoming guests to Rugby

Submitted Photo The new signs placed north and south of Rugby on Highway 3 have been placed to not only match the east and west welcome signs but to also give the town some new signs that are more durable for the harsh seasons North Dakota can have.

Anyone driving in to Rugby from the North or South entrances of the town via Highway 3 will have possibly already noticed the new addition to the area, but new welcoming signs have been placed for community members and visitors alike to see.

The new signs now match the ones placed for the East and West entrances.

“The old blue signs were showing their age and wood is hard to maintain, so there as just a need for new signs that could endure our seasons,” said Chamber Director Darylanna Durkee.

The signs were ordered through I Design in Rugby and cost around $26,500. It took about three weeks for the signs to be placed in their spots once they were delivered. The ground had to be prepared for their new design and size versus the previous wooden ones.

Once they were ready to place them in, B&J Excavation of Rugby did the heavy lifting.
