Family Motor Coach Association returning to Minot

After their last visit in 2005, the Family Motor Coach Association hasn’t returned to Minot for 13 years, but the North Dakota State Fair has announced on Thursday that they will be returning to Minot for their 100th International Convention and RV Expo in August 2019.

“FMCA has hosted conventions at the North Dakota State Fairgrounds three times in the past,” said Doug Uhlenbrock, Family Motor Coach Association events director in a press release. “This will be a long overdue return visit. Minot offers a small-town feel with big-town amenities and attraction and will make a great destination for this special celebration of FMCA’s 100th convention.”

Renae Korslien, who is the general manager of the North Dakota State Fair, said that they have been working hard the last couple years to bring the Family Motor Coach Association back because of the enjoyment the community has always gotten from it and from the economic impact it can have not just citywide but statewide.

Many of the members of the association, namely those who set up the vast numbers of motor coaches, will be in Minot from Aug. 7 through Aug. 20 for set up and take down for the Aug. 14 through Aug. 17 show, something Korslien thinks will be good for Minot as they stay, shop, and eat in town.

In March 2019, a delegation of North Dakotans will attend the Family Motor Coach Associations convention to personally invite their attendees to North Dakota and to inform them of all that North Dakota also has to offer, such as destinations, attractions, and other events that those attendees can go to before and after their time in Minot.

Starting at $2.99/week.
