Man charged with robbing Game Stop also facing federal meth dealing charges

A federal charge of dealing meth is pending against a 23-year-old Minot man who is being held at the Ward County Jail on a charge that he robbed Game Stop at gunpoint in August.

According to court records, Jordan Lee Ritter was indicted by a grand jury on April 5 on a charge of conspiracy to distribute and possession with intent to distribute controlled substances. No hearing date has been set in the case.

Magistrate Judge Charles Miller ruled on April 27 that Ritter could be released to a treatment center. Ritter had been receiving drug treatment at North Central Human Services in Minot. The treatment center is not considered a secured facility.

On May 30, according to a report to the court, Ritter left the residential program without permission because he had a death in the family and then delayed returning to the treatment facility, despite being ordered several times to do so. On June 15, Ritter overdosed on pure fentanyl and law enforcement and medical professionals responded. He was ordered to report back to the residential treatment center after he was discharged form the hospital.

On Aug. 17, according to court records, Ritter allegedly went into the Game Stop, pointed a handgun at the employee, and demanded money. A total of $570 was stolen from the store. Ritter is charged with Class B felony robbery, a charge carrying a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison and a $20,000 fine, and wearing a mask during commission of a criminal offense, a Class A misdemeanor carrying a maximum sentence of one year in jail and $3,500 in fines. A pretrial conference in the case is set for Nov. 28. The Ward County Jail roster indicates that Ritter is also being held for the FBI.

Ritter is also facing two Class A misdemeanors in district court in Minot, possession of a controlled substance and ingesting a controlled substance, both dating back to June 15.
