Emma Haaland competes in Little Miss pageant

BURLINGTON – Emma Haaland of Burlington competed in the Little Miss Divison of the Miss United States National Pageant held in Orlando, Fla., June 30-July 5.

She placed in the top 10 and received the Little Miss Congeniality award. The award is voted on by all the Little Miss girls around the nation competing in the national pageant. The Little Miss age divison is 8 to 10.

The pageant week began with a state costume runway walk and preliminaries, finishing with an opening dance, semi finals and top 10. Little Miss was judged on evening gown, sportswear and interview.

Haaland is the daughter of Angie Haaland, Burlington, and granddaughter of Gary and Jean Bryans and Brent Haaland, all of Minot. She currently reigns as Little Miss North Dakota United States with the chosen platform to help feed the hungry, volunteering Monday evenings at the St. Leo’s soup kitchen.
