Reflections: Disobedience, guilt and mercy

Aaron had been hiking all day when the accident occurred. Under ideal conditions he could have made it home that day, but now that he was injured, he would have to rest when it got dark. The Awana Club of First Baptist Church of Minot held its Award Night May 8, according to a press release. Emily Evon earned the Citation Award, a crowning achievement for years of dedication. For young people involved in an Awana Club, earning the Citation Award represents a minimum of 10 years of hard work and service. The Citation is their reward for having spent countless hours attending club meetings, working with children, getting involved in their communities and memorizing approximately 1,000 Bible verses. First Baptist Church XYZ to meet May 23

First Baptist Church XYZ, a senior adult ministry for people over 50, will meet Thursday, May 23 at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Minot. The Moen family from Upham will present a musical program. Refreshments will be served. First Bapist Church is located at 200 3rd Street SW.

Cemetery services

During the week before Memorial Day there will be a short prayer service at two cemeteries in Minot, conducted by local Catholic priests and deacons. The services will be held on Monday, May 20, at 7 p.m. at Rosehill Memorial Cemetery and on Thursday, May 23, at 7:30 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Gardens. The priests and deacons will then be available to bless the graves of people’s loved ones with holy water after the services. People of all faith traditions are welcome to attend these services.

Despite the fact that her parents and husband disapproved of her choice of career, she continued to climb the corporate ladder in the abortion industry. Russian Harvest Ministries presentation Sunday at Lighthouse Church

Lighthouse Church, located at 1400 5th Street SW in Minot, will host Russian Harvest Ministries on Sunday at its 10:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. services. Russian Harvest Ministries co-founder Jill Mehl will share about the evangelism and church planting in areas of the former Soviet Union in Ukraine and Moldova as well as in Poland. Joining her will be Kareen Zelfimian, part of the overseas team.
