DATE SET FOR LUTEFISK AND MEATBALL SUPPER IN GRANVILLE The annual lutefisk and meatball supper, sponsored by First Lutheran Church, of Granville, will be 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 4, in McGillicuddy Center, Granville.

The cost will be $15 for adults and $8 for youth ages 6 to 12. There will be no charge for preschoolers. Tickets will be available at the door.

A bazaar will be held in conjunction with the supper. Baked goods and lefse will also be available for sale

The center is handicapped accessible.

MINOT CHURCH TO HOST WORSHIP SEMINAR – First Baptist Church, of Minot, will host a worship seminar by Tom Kraeuter on Saturday, Oct. 10. Kraeuter is an author, speaker and worship expert. His Scripture-based seminar is open to everyone interested in learning more about worship or desiring a stronger relationship with God.

The seminar begins at 8:30 a.m. and ends at noon. An additional smaller group session for those directly involved in worship ministry will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Both sessions will be in the church at 200-3rd St. SW.

DATE SET FOR LUTEFISK, MEATBALL DINNER Zion Lutheran Church, in Minot, will hold its 45th annual lutefisk and meatball dinner from 3 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 26, in the church at 1800 Hiawatha St.

Tickets for the dinner, which will be served family style, will be available at the door. The cost is $15 for adults and $7 for children ages 6 to 12. There will be no charge for children age 5 and under.

Takeout meals will be available.

ANNUAL CRAFT AUCTION PLANNED SEPT. 27 The 30th annual craft auction will be 7 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 27, at Rose Valley Lutheran Church, rural Des Lacs.

There will be homemade crafts and baked items.

Pie and coffee will be served following the auction.

BAPTIST BOYS CONCERT TO BE SUNDAY IN MINOT Immanuel Baptist Church will host a concert by The Baptist Boys at 7 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 20, in the church at 1615-2nd St. SE. Bluegrass and gospel music will be a part of the concert.

There is no cost to attend.

Refreshments will be provided.

XYZ GROUP TO MEET THURSDAY First Baptist Church XYZ, a senior adult ministry for people in the 50-plus age group, will meet at 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 24, in the church at 200-3rd St. SW.

Larry Stenson, director of Minot Youth for Christ, will present the program, “The Value of the Every.”

Refreshments will be served.

SWISS STEAK SUPPER PLANNED IN VELVA The annual Swiss steak supper will be served from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 27, in St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church, Velva.

The cost of the dinner will be $10 for adults, $5 for youth ages 6 to 12 and $3 for children ages 2 to 5. To-go meals will be available for people who live within the Velva city limits. People should call 338-2663 to order meals.

A farmers market will be held in conjunction with the supper and baked goods and garden produce will be available for sale.

Catholic United Financial has provided a grant to the church. Proceeds of the grant and the supper will be used for religious education programs and for parish needs.

PANCAKE BREAKFAST PLANNED SUNDAY Knights of Columbus Council 9906 will serve a pancake breakfast from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 20, in the lower level of St. Leo’s Catholic Church, 218-1st St. SE. Country-style sausage and scrambled eggs will be served with the pancakes.

Proceeds of the freewill offering will support Special Olympics North Dakota.

DATE SET FOR FLEISCHKUECHLE SUPPER IN GARRISON The annual Fleischkuechle German supper will be from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 26, in St. Paul Lutheran Church, Garrison. Potato salad, German potato salad, German chocolate cake and apple dessert will be served with the fleischkuechle.

Meals may be ordered for delivery by calling 463-2019 prior to 4 p.m.

Freewill donations will be received to benefit Cross of the Camp Ministries.

A silent auction to benefit Camp of the Cross Capital Campaign will be held in conjunction with the supper.

PRAYER SERVICE PLANNED AT NOON TODAY There will be a prayer service at noon today on the north lawn of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 200 E. Burdick Expy., Minot. The service will be a vigil of repentance in remembrance of the victims of abortion. There will be prayers for courage to speak up for life of the unborn and the defunding of Planned Parenthood.

In the case of inclement weather, the service will be held in the church.

CONCERT SCHEDULED IN MINOT CHURCH The Master’s Plan of Bismarck will be in concert at First Baptist Church, 200-3rd St. SW, at 6:30 p.m. Sunday.

The concert will include traditional and contemporary gospel music.

The concert is free.

PRIMETIMERS TO MEET THURSDAY The PrimeTimers Fellowship group from Our Redeemer’s Church, Minot, will meet 2 p.m. Thursday in the church fellowship hall at 700-16th Ave. SE.

Larry Nelson, of Minot, will provide vocal and guitar music.

Refreshments will be served by Group 2.

GIFTS EVENT SCHEDULED IN MINOT Biblical storyteller Philip Ruge-Jones will be guest speaker at a Growing in Faith to Serve event Saturday, Sept. 26, in Bread of Life Lutheran Church, 1415-17th Ave. SW.

GIFTS is a ministry of the Western North Dakota Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.

Ruge-Jones is professor of theology at Texas Lutheran University.

The cost of the event is $15; this fee covers lunch and coffee breaks.

ANNUAL FALL FAIR TO BE HELD IN LANSFORD The Lansford Fall Fair will be 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 19 in the Lansford Community Center. The annual event is sponsored by the church women’s groups of Lansford.

Vendors will be selling their products and crafts. There will also be a Basket of Bounty raffle and a luncheon of homemade soup, sandwiches and pie.

RECITAL SCHEDULED SEPT. 13 IN MINOT CHURCH Mari Sayler, a soprano from Devils Lake, will present “Sing to the Spirit,” a classical recital of sacred music at 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 13, in St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, 2209-4th Ave. NW.

The concert is free and open to the public.

CHRISTIAN WOMEN’S CLUB TO MEET TUESDAY Minot Christian Women’s Club will meet from 12:15 to 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 8, in the Grand Hotel, Minot, for its monthly meeting. The theme of the meeting will be “Tea Time.”

Janet Burger, of LuVerne, Minn., will present a feature on “Tea Parties for All Seasons” and will share her faith story, “Time for Tea.”

The non-denominational event is open to the public. All ladies are invited to wear a hat.
