Minot banker named Outstanding Banker

Emily Schock, Loan Origination Team lead at First International Bank & Trust, recently graduated from the Dakota School of Banking sponsored by the North Dakota Bankers Association and endorsed by the South Dakota Bankers Association. In its 49th year, the school trained 65 bank personnel. The school was held on the University of Jamestown campus in Jamestown. Schock received the honor of Outstanding Banker of the Year. Marisa Andrysiak has been promoted to consumer loan processor at Aspire Credit Union. Andrysiak is replacing Kim Bloms, who will be retiring in July. TIOGA -- Jenny Gaaskjolen has been named assistant vice president of Ag and Business Banking for Bank of Tioga, based in the Tioga location. Gaaskjolen is a native of Spearfish, South Dakota, and resides in Stanley. She graduated from Black Hills State University with a bachelor’s degree in business administration management and marketing. Crude blasts up as OPEC cuts The opening excitement of last week’s commodity and financial markets was a $5 per barrel explosion in crude oil prices. The blast came in response to a pledge from the OPEC nations plus Russia to cut production by 70,000 barrels per day. Iraq’s blocking of Kurdistan’s crude shipments helped to send West Texas crude over $80 per barrel for the first time in a month. It was the biggest one-day gain in over a year.
