Soup cook-off to benefit cancer patients

The Deb’s Circle of Friends annual Soup Cook-Off will be held Saturday, Oct. 12, from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. in Christ Lutheran Church, 502 17th St. NW, Minot. The event will include a bake sale, 50/50 raffle and silent auction. All proceeds benefit patients and staff at a local cancer center. Attendees can try as many soups as they want and will judge the soups. The event is in honor of three-time cancer fighter Deb Helland.

Plaza church supper, bazaar set for Oct. 13

PLAZA – First Lutheran Church in Plaza will hold a fall supper and bazaar Sunday, Oct. 13, from 4-7 p.m. The roast pork supper will have all the trimmings including lefse and rommegrot. Take out meals are available.

Community Rocks! donates to area organizations

A number of local charities received donations from Community Rocks! at a gifting ceremony Monday. According to the board of directors, $4,500 was donated to area organizations from proceeds from the Summer Community Rocks Concert that took place Saturday, Aug. 24. MSU to host community Halloween event at Dome

Minot State University is inviting the community to a family-friendly Halloween Trick-or-Treat event on the third floor of the MSU Dome on Thursday, Oct. 31, from 5-7 p.m. The Halloween celebration will have a variety of activities and attractions for all ages.
