Performer to appear at Sibyl Center Sept. 2

STANLEY — David Snyder, scheduled to perform at the Sibyl Center Saturday, Sept. 2, at 7 p.m., is a pianist, composer, arranger and actor raised in rural North Dakota and now based in Los Angeles. With more than 12 years of classical training, he has creatively translated his expertise into solo piano and instrumental tracks.

Snyder’s musical journey began in eastern North Dakota, where he and his nine siblings were homeschooled through high school. He was caretaker of 20 chickens, a hundred pheasants, two dogs, 15 cats, and had an affinity for alpacas. While Snyder notes that this was not a likely combination for a musician and an actor, he appreciates his childhood and his hometown.

“I grew up on a 21-acre hobby farm, nestled nearby a small town of less than a thousand people. And man, I loved it. The open space, clean air, the kind people, the chores and lawn mowers,” he said.

Since then, he has been on a variety of stages, but most notably on that of “America’s Got Talent.” He has experience in every era of classical music, from Renaissance to Baroque to Modern. Apart from his score-reading skills, Snyder has accompanied bands, choirs and soloists and has opened for renowned artists Snoop Dogg and RevRun. His music has resonated with millions, accumulating over four million streams. Snyder’s piano presence also can be found on TikTok.

Snyder is on his The Piano Says It Better tour this summer, by which he weaves emotions and melodies together for his show.

His show at the Sibyl Center will feature a wide variety of numbers. Admission is by suggested minimum donation of $10 (children younger than 12 always free).
