The Minot Chamber Chorale will hold its 50th anniversary season opener, “Somewhere Only We Know,” its Pops Concert, at the Grand Hotel on Friday, Oct. 14, at 7:30 p.m.

The program will feature local musicians, Abbie (Naze) Eads, cello; Briana Schwan, keyboards; Ben Eder, guitar. Arrangements of songs by The Beatles, Nine Inch Nails, Katy Perry, Laura Mvula, David Bowie, BeeGees and Keane, will weave a narrative that expresses the desire for warmth of connection and song to bridge the distance of politics and pandemic that have separated us.

Arrangements by Erik Mychal Anderson, and Emerson Eads will take concertgoers on a ride from Mancini to Mvula with solos by Colleen Schwan and Erik Anderson, along with music trivia developed by Bethany Andreasen and Eric Furuseth, with prizes for winners. There will also be a guest performance during an intermission by Brent Fischer, piano, and Sam Strickland, trumpet.

For 50 seasons, the Minot Chamber Chorale has been offering Minot some of the repertoire’s finest choral music. The Pops Concert fundraiser, “Somewhere Only We Know,” aims to celebrate the chorale’s fine tradition and reach for continued relevance and sustainability in the future.

Starting at $2.99/week.
