Wondering about fall’s latest trends? Looking for something to do on a Friday night? The Trinity Health Auxiliary Hearts Club is bringing back their Fashion Heart Fundraiser tonight at the Sleep Inn & Suites.

Tickets for the event are $10 and doors open at 6:30 p.m. Proceeds from the event go to Trinity Health’s Auxiliary Hearts Club to help with their $25,000 fundraising goal they aim to hit every February. The money raised goes to the heart program at Trinity Health. This will be the club’s second Fashion Heart Fundraiser.

“It was quite successful (two years ago), we had about 250 people in attendance,” said Sherry Maragos, Trinity Health director of volunteer services and vice president of the Auxiliary Hearts Club. “It was just kind of a fun evening…we had people of all ages so it was fun.”

The vendors and sponsors lined up for this year’s show include: Michele F., Jax & Henley, 52 West, Leela and Lavender, Key Bliss, Maurices, JCPenney, Carter’s Osh Kosh B’gosh, Ritter Family Dentistry, Trinity Health Cardiopulmonary Rehab and TJE Entertainment.

“You get a little bit of information, the ability to shop and enjoy yourself,” Maragos explained. “We’ll have appetizers again. It should be a fun evening.”

Maragos became a part of the Auxiliary Hearts Club due to her personal connection with heart related events.

“Heart disease is basically the No. 1 killer across all ages in the U.S.,” she said. “Because of my personal family has been effected I got passionate about it and Trinity at the time had a lot of different events for cancer and different things but we really didn’t have any focus on the heart.”

Maragos strives to bring focus to the heart and heart-related events such as heart attacks and strokes. She also wanted to bring another event to be able to help and give back to the community hospital.

“If we can teach people how to lead a healthier life to keep them out of those last-minute moments of heart attacks and strokes then that’s what we’re striving to do here,” she added.

Because the Sleep Inn & Suites donated the room for the event, almost 100 percent of the profits will be going back into the community.

New to the event this year will be a makeover by JCPenney Sephora. The winner will be drawn within the first 30 minutes of the event and their makeover will be revealed at the end of the show.
