Meet the artist:

Name: Ciara Parizek

Current Hometown: Deering, ND

Where can we see your work?

I have it posted on Instagram: speed–racer–555 and Deviantart: pachi-the-strong

Do you have work for sale?

No, but I’ve been thinking about doing commissions. My art hasn’t gotten too much attention online, so maybe asking for commissions would help me develop my skill and get my name out there.

In what media do you work?

Mainly colored pencil, but also use acrylic paint, airbrush, and digital.

How would you describe your style?

My style is more anime-esque than anything. I grew up watching basically nothing but anime, so that’s what I ended up drawing. I’ve tried drawing more realistic stuff, but it ends up looking like a tiger from an anime instead.

Who would you say have been influences on your work?

Anime that I watch and artists that I watch on Instagram and Deviantart.

Are there particular themes you like to explore in your work?

I usually draw characters from stories that I write, which are full of action, romance, fun, and drama.

What do you most enjoy about the creative process?

I really enjoy the brainstorming process, which typically consists of playing out scenarios in my head and putting them on paper, canvas, or a screen.

Tell us a little about yourself.

I’m from the small town of Deering, ND. I have two dogs named Alice Marie and Kingsleigh Rae, a tiger Oscar named SheerKahn, and a leopard gecko named Naga. I grew up racing motocross, and I was the 2013 Women’s Open Champion. I still love to ride my dirt bike, write, draw, read, and crochet. I’ve been drawing since I was 10, progressing from simple cat drawings to tigers, wolves, and people. I enjoy digital art, using my Wacom tablet and laptop, but I prefer traditional art with a pencil and sketchbook.
