Summer heats up at Minot’s RibFest

The pits were fired up, lemonade was flowing and live music played in the distance Friday and Saturday evenings as Minoters headed to the North Dakota State Fairgrounds for Minot’s RibFest.

The event offered live music Friday from the Missing Lynx followed by Top Dead Center and Saturday from Johnny Green and The Long Run: An Eagles Tribute Band.

Of course, at center stage is some of the best in barbecue from around the nation.

Coming from Cleveland, Ohio, was Blazin’ Bronco BBQ. Joining the lineup was Porky-N-Beans BBQ Company from Port St. Lucie, Fla. All the way from the Lone Star State was Cowboys BBQ and Rib Company based out of Fort Worth.

Carolina Catering offered different sides, sweets and treats to complement the barbecue.

Saturday was complemented by the the Monster Truck Night of Thrills from 2-3 p.m.

There are plenty of activities for the whole family to enjoy. Escape Point has an escape room set up for $10 a person for 30 minutes of clues and puzzle solving. Also featured are kid’s bounce houses, go-karts, basketball, virtual reality and cornhole.

RibFest continues today from noon to 5 p.m. Pursuit Church is bringing a Father’s Day service and music to RibFest starting at 10:30 a.m. Admission to RibFest is free during the service.

Available from noon to 5 p.m. are the escape room, basketball, virtual reality, corn hole and go-karts. The bounce houses will be up until 8 p.m.

Tickets today after The Pursuit’s service are $5 per person over the age of 12. Children 12 and under get in for free.
