Bert Neukom

Bert Neukom passed

peacefully February 26,

2018 in Puyallup, WA. He

was born March 10, 1924

in Ryder, North Dakota.

He lived with his parents

and brothers on their farm

and attended grade and

high school in Ryder, ND.

After graduation he en-

listed in the US Marine

Corps, serving in the

South Pacific, 1943 to

1946, 1st Marine Division,

stationed in New Georgia

Island, New Hebrides Is-

land, Bougainville Island

and the liberation of the

Philippine Islands.

Bert was preceded in

death by: his mother,

Clover Neukom, father Al-

bert Neukom and brothers

Chet and Harold.

He is survived by: his

wife Anna, married 71

years, 5 children, Gary,

Ken, Connie, Joan, Cindy

and 13 grandchildren.

He enjoyed salmon fish

in the Puget Sound for

many years and visiting

his fishing friends at the

Point Definance boat

house, also a longtime

trout fisherman. Bert was

a member of Tacoma Elks

Lodge 174 and VFW 969.

He was a working

member of Cement Ma-

sons Local 528 for 45

years and a union

member for 70 years, en-

joying construction and

his trade.

At his request an organ

donor, and his remains

cremated with no

memorial services. God
