Brandon Lafrombois, Minot, sentenced to prison for intent to deal meth

Brandon James Lafrombois, 27, Minot, was sentenced Wednesday to 10 years in prison, with all suspended but three years, for intent to deliver methamphetamine, on June 20.

Court records show that Judge Richard Hagar also sentenced Lafrombois to three years of supervised probation and gave him credit for 92 days already served in prison. Lafrombois must also obtain a chemical dependency evaluation and pay $1,600 in court costs. He also pleaded guilty to unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon and was sentenced to three years in prison, concurrent with the first sentence.

The state dropped other charges against Lafrombois, including Class C felony preventing arrest, Class A misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance, and Class B misdemeanor refusal to halt.

According to court documents, Lafrombois and another man had been skateboarding on benches and new concrete in downtown Minot early on the morning of June 20. Police responded to the call and Lafrombois and the other man fled on bicycles. They were caught and detained. Lafrombois was carrying a backpack with a substantial amount of methamphetamine and other items.
