Jeanette Kaseman, Minot, sentenced for trespassing at Walmart; charged with possession of meth

Jeanette Pauline Kaseman, 37, Minot, pleaded guilty on Thursday in Minot Municipal Court to trespassing at Walmart on Dec. 28, 2018. Court records show she was ordered to pay $225 in court costs for the incident.

Jeanette Kaseman was also charged with Class C felony possession of methamphetamine for the same incident. That case is still pending.

According to a probable cause affidavit filed with the court, Jeanette Kaseman and an 11-year-old boy were shopping in the electronics section at Walmart and a loss prevention officer recognized her as someone who has been banned from Walmart. Kaseman initially gave the officer the wrong name and birth date and was wearing a blonde wig to avoid being arrested for trespass. She eventually admitted her identity when the officer said he recognized her. Kaseman first made arrangements for the child to get a ride home and she was placed under arrest. When she was searched, police found an unused needle and a bag containing 5 grams of methamphetamine in her coat. Kaseman claimed the substance was salt and she was going to sell it as drugs to get back at someone who had stolen a watch from her.

Jeanette Kaseman has several other charges pending against her in district court in Minot in different cases, including Class A felony delivery of meth and Class B felony conspiracy to deliver meth charges dating back to May 17, 2018. A jury trial in that case is scheduled for Feb. 19.

Her husband, William James Kaseman, who made an initial appearance on other charges in another case in court on Thursday, is a co-defendant in that drug dealing case. He is charged with conspiracy to deliver meth, a Class B felony. No trial date on that charge has been set for William Kaseman.
