Jeremy Michael Maines, 44, of Seattle, Wash., will serve about 20 years in prison for robbing the American Bank Center in Stanley on April 6, 2017, brandishing a pistol and threatening to kill four bank employees if a bank vault was not opened, then leading authorities on a car chase at a high rate of speed, at times in the wrong lane, following the robbery.
Maines, who has been held in custody since shortly after the robbery, was sentenced by North Central District Court Judge Doug Mattson to 20 years, with eight years suspended, and will receive credit for 568 days already served in prison and 64 days of good time credit. He will be required to serve at least 85 percent of his sentence and will be on supervised probation for five years after his release from prison. He was also ordered to have no contact with the bank and to pay $250 in court costs. He was also sentenced to five years in prison for each of four Class C felony terrorizing charges, related to his brandishing a gun and threatening to kill bank employees during the robbery. Court records show that two of the five year sentences are to be served concurrently with the one for robbery and two of the five year sentences are to be served consecutive to the robbery sentence, to begin after Maines has completed serving that sentence.
The sentence for the robbery will be served consecutively to a five year sentence Maines received in September for reckless endangerment and theft of property, both Class C felonies, in district court in Ward County. Maines was sentenced to five years on both of those charges. Those two sentences are concurrent. Maines received credit for 526 days served in those cases.
The sentencing took place on Thursday in Stanley.
