A sentencing hearing for a former Minot teacher who pleaded guilty to helping plan the murder of her husband's ex-wife has been delayed to give the state more time to complete a pre-sentence investigation.
Cynthia Louise Wilder, 27, had been scheduled to be sentenced March 29 on the Class AA felony conspiracy to commit murder and Class C felony accomplice to escape charges. No new sentencing date has yet been set.
Wilder entered an Alford plea in November to helping her husband, Richie Wilder, plan the November 2015 stabbing murder of his ex-wife, Angila Wilder Jr., and afterwards of helping him to clean up. She also aided her husband in his foiled escape from the Ward County Jail in August 2016. Cynthia Wilder confessed her role in the crimes to an old flame in May 2016, who worked with the police and recorded his conversations with her. Cynthia Wilder was arrested later that month and charged.
Richie Wilder Jr. was convicted of murder and is serving a life sentence without parole. He and his ex-wife, Angila, had an acrimonious relationship and fought over custody of their two children.
