Prostitution sting nabs three
Minot police made a trio of arrests during a recent prostitution sting operation. Officers posed as both “Johns” and prostitutes in making the arrests.
Gingie Marie Calvillo, 38, Riverside, California, was arrested by Minot Police November 10. Calvillo responded to an undercover police officer who made an inquiry for an “escort” on an internet site. Calvillo was arrested after accepting $300 from a Minot police officer posing as a John at Minot’s Grand Hotel. She is scheduled for a pretrial conference in Minot Municipal Court Nov. 29 on a charge of prostitution.
Trojan Dimagan, 26, Minot, was arrested by Minot Police Nov. 10 on a charge of solicitation of prostitution. Dimagan had responded to an ad on backpage.com. After paying an undercover officer $100 at a Minot hotel room, he was placed under arrest.
Dimagan appeared before Minot Municipal Court Judge Mark Rasmuson earlier this week for an initial appearance. He is expected to enter a plea Dec. 1 at 8:30 a.m. in Municipal Court.
Yinmei Zeng, 30, no known address, was arrested by Minot Police on Nov. 11. She faces a single charge of prostitution after accepting a $200 payment during a sting operation conducted at the Grand Hotel.
Zeng requested a court trial before Judge Rasmuson in Minot Municipal Court. Her trial is set for Dec. 14 at 9 a.m.
All three defendants are facing Class B misdemeanor charges which are punishable by a maximum of $1,500 and 30 days in jail.
