Minot woman brings a fun, fizzy twist to baths

Submitted Photo Alexis Lee is shown with her booth at the Moose Lodge in Minot in May.

The Minot area has always advertised to shop local. A Dash of Fizz is a new and upcoming business for those who loves baths.

Alexis Lee was born in Bismarck and raised in Minot. As a huge fan of bath products like bath bombs, Lee decided to start her own business, A Dash of Fizz, in the beginning of April of this year to let those in Minot get these products locally.

Lee always wanted to start her own business. “I always thought I would do well owning a business. I definitely found the right fit for me,” she said.

Bath bombs are, in general, a round ball of different powdery ingredients placed in a bath full of water. It usually fizzes as it melts, releasing a scent and possibly color to the water.

Making bath bombs can be time consuming and hard work, but Lee enjoys doing it and providing people with access to her products without having to spend a lot of money on shipping from other companies that make and sell bath bombs.

“My whole life I have been bath obsessed, which led to my love of bath bombs. In March of this year I started making bath bombs for fun and when I made them, they turned out so good. After showing them on social media, I had people asking me when they could buy them,” she said about what led to this exact business.

Lee works hard to make sure her products are good for sensitive skin. “I have sensitive skin along with many people close to me so I wanted to make sure other people with sensitive skin would be able to use my products,” she said.

She uses natural ingredients like essential oils to achieve that task. She uses a colorant that won’t stain baths, something she’s made sure doesn’t happen through tests in her own bathtub.

Lee also sells her products locally at craft fairs, vendor events and even has her products for sale at a local store, The Market on 4th. She also takes orders off the A Dash of Fizz Facebook page.
