Tribe receives $3.3M for water treatment plant upgrades

BELCOURT – Senators John Hoeven and Kevin Cramer announced on Friday that the U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development has awarded a more than $3.3 million grant to the Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa Indians.
The funds will be used to make essential infrastructure improvements to a local water treatment plant.
The Bureau of Reclamation and tribe provided a combined more than $3.1 million in additional funds to complete the plan.
