Canadian biker dies in accident south of Grassy Butte

A 55-year-old Canadian man died around 3:30 p.m. Sunday when he lost control of his motorcycle on U.S. Highway 85, one mile south of Grassy Butte, in McKenzie County.
According to a Highway Patrol report, the Warman, Sask., man was southbound on US #85 en route from Regina to Sturgis, SD.
The man was traveling at 70 mph with a group of motorcycles. Witness statements indicate that a northbound vehicle had crossed over the centerline into the southbound lane. The motorcycle swerved to miss the northbound vehicle and the driver lost control.
The motorcycle tipped to the ground and the driver was ejected. The driver died at the scene from his injuries.
The name of the driver will be released after notification to family. The crash remains under investigation by the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
