Bison baseball sweeps Summit League weekly honors

For the first time this season, the Summit League Baseball Player and Pitcher of the Week hail from the same program, as North Dakota State shortstop Bennett Hostetler and relief pitcher Parker Harm were honored by league officials Monday.

Hostetler collected his fourth weekly honor of the season after batting .611 during a 4-1 week for the Bison that included a key series win over visiting Omaha. Hostetler had multiple hits in all five contests, finishing 11-for-18 at the plate with a home run, five RBI and six runs. After picking up his 200th career-hit in a non-conference win over Mayville State, Hostetler went 9-for-14 against the Mavericks with five RBI and five runs.

Harm finished off a pair of 8-7 victories with two perfect innings in games one and three of the weekend series against Omaha, as he picked up his league-leading sixth and seventh saves of the season. He struck out the side in Friday’s one-run victory, then added a fourth strikeout in another perfect inning in Saturday’s one-run victory to earn his second weekly honor in the last three weeks.
