The Minot State men’s hockey team returns to Maysa Arena on Wednesday night to host the University of Mary Marauders in a single-game matchup before welcoming Drury University for a two-game series on Friday and Saturday.
The Beavers enter Wednesday’s contest with an 8-0-1-1 record, including eight wins, an overtime loss to Drury, and a shootout loss to the Marauders.
University of Mary enters the matchup with a 6-2-0 record and looks to build on its previous meeting with Minot State, a closely contested game that ended in a shootout on October 17 in Mandan. The Beavers look to avenge that loss and maintain their strong start to the season.
Historically, Minot State holds a 21-3-1 record against the Marauders dating back to December 3, 2021. Before the recent shootout loss, the Beavers had won 12 of their previous 13 meetings against University of Mary.
Leading the Beavers offensively is Colby Joseph, who has recorded seven goals and nine assists for 16 points through the first 10 games. Joey Moffatt follows closely behind with 14 points in nine appearances. Matthew Yakubowski, Trenton Curtis, and Walker Jerome have also contributed to the Beavers’ offensive production.
Minot State has relied on a balanced goaltending rotation this season, with Jase Wareham and Blake Sittler each appearing in four games and Will Dyke making two appearances.
Dyke started against University of Mary in their previous meeting, recording 35 saves on 37 shots for a .946 save percentage to help the Beavers push the game to a shootout.
Wareham holds a 4-0 record, including one shutout, with a 2.25 goals-against average and a .900 save percentage. Sittler is 3-0-1 with a 2.71 goals-against average and a .893 save percentage.
The Beavers enter Wednesday’s matchup looking to carry their momentum forward after sweeping a tightly contested two-game series against Midland University last weekend in Nebraska.
Puck drop is scheduled for Wednesday, October 28, at 7 p.m. at Maysa Arena.
