Jantzer elected mayor in unofficial results
Mark Jantzer was elected Minot’s newest mayor, according to unofficial election results on Aug. 5. The election drew 5,516 voters.
A Minot City Council member since 2008, Jantzer moved up from council president to become acting mayor after the resignation of Tom Ross on April 1. He received 2,351 votes in the election, leading council members Rob Fuller with 1,430 votes and Paul Pitner with 1,398 votes. Josiah Roise garnered 324 votes.
Official results will become available after canvassing of the election on Aug. 18.
