MEDORA — Medora is preparing for a summer of celebrating Teddy Roosevelt and paying tribute to the West, said Kaelee Wallace, marketing manager for the Theodore Roosevelt Medora Foundation.

The Medora Musical will open June 8 and play through Sept. 10. The Pitchfork Steak Fondue will open at the same time as the musical.

“The Medora Musical features all of the guests’ favorites – a salute to Teddy Roosevelt, a big patriotic finale, live horses on stage, and this summer — a great lineup of brand-new variety acts,” said Wallace. “Also returning will be the Teddy Roosevelt Show which features Joe Wiegand, world class TR repriser who takes guests through the many life adventures of TR.”

Wallace said the Pitchfork Steak Fondue broke its attendance record last summer and the Medora Musical was 84 tickets shy of breaking its attendance record in the summer of 2021.

After years of stress due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Wallace thinks people are ready to get back to experiencing some of their favorite things.

Medora offers a place for North Dakotans to enjoy a family vacation in their own state.

Another highlight at Medora will be the Medora Gospel Brunch, now in its seventh year, which will open on June 17 with shows playing on Wednesday and Friday through Sunday.

“It will offer the refreshed show that opened new last year with a whole bunch of great new gospel songs all paired with guests’ old favorites,” said Wallace.

Other entertainment for all ages will be open throughout the summer as well.

“Bully Pulpit Golf Course returns to a Par 71 this summer with a golf experience like you’ve never played before. Featuring two brand new holes and some newly constructed favorites. Bully Pulpit brings golfers a new round. Hole 16 will be under construction through the summer and reopening for golf in 2023 when the whole 19-hole course will be complete,” said Wallace.

The newest attraction this summer is the full opening of Point to Point Park. Little Bully Pulpit Mini Golf Course and Manitou Point to Point Zipline have been operating for the past two summers with the first part of Point to Point hiking trails opening in 2021. This summer will bring the addition of a lazy river, zero entry pool, splash pads, jump pillows, pickle ball, and more. It is a brand-new family experience right in the heart of downtown Medora!

Lodging at different price points is also available in the area, ranging from an expanded campground to a motor motel to a historic hotel, said Wallace.
