NEDROSE SCHOOL BOARD
MINUTES
January 15, 2020 5:30 P.M.
The Nedrose School Board Meeting
was called to order by President Jim
Vannett. Members present: Jim
Vannett, Robert Kraus, Holly
Brekhus, and Chris Sutton.
Members absent; Todd Awalt. Staff
present; Matt Norby, Administrator,
Chelsea Raymond, High School
Principal, Alex Schmaltz, Elementa-
ry Principal and Megan Druse,
Teacher Representative. Staff ab-
sent; Connie Marcellais, Business
Manager. Motion made by Jim Van-
nett and seconded by Robert Kraus
to approve the agenda with the fol-
lowing additions: Annexations, Busi-
ness Manager Evaluation, and Gar-
den. Motion carried unanimously.
Cardinal Kudos were presented to
Nedrose PTO represented by Becky
Bass, Stephanie Bloms, and Alicia
Holien. Also receiving Kudos were
Becky Schweitzer, Samantha Butler,
and Amber Tikalsky. New nomina-
tions for Cardinal Kudos: Keith
Heisler and Tom Weltikol. Keith and
Tom have stepped up and helped
cover when staffing was short or ex-
tra help was need for snow removal.
Motion made by Jim Vannett and
seconded by Chris Sutton to accept
the nominations. Motion carried
unanimously. Motion made by Bob
Kraus and seconded by Chris Sutton
to approve the minutes of the De-
cember 18, 2019 meeting. Motion
carried unanimously. Bob Kraus
moved and seconded by Chris Sut-
ton to approve the Financial bal-
ances as of December 31, 2019 as
presented; checkbook,
$1,683,302.78; MM Savings
1,224,189.17. Motion made Bob
Kraus and seconded Jim Vannett to
approve the bills in the amount of
$255,348.24 using check numbers
55678-55714 and 55619-55624. Mo-
tion carried unanimously. Activity
Director, Elementary Principal and
High School Principal reports were
reviewed. Motion made by Jim Van-
nett and seconded by Bob Kraus to
approve second reading of the fol-
lowing policies ABCB – Sportsman-
ship; DHAB – Title I Qualification
Notification Requirement and DI –
Personnel Records. On roll Call
vote, motion carried unanimously.
Mr. Norby presented several option
of a 2020-2121 school calendar. A
survey will be posted for teachers
and staff to give their input on the
possible options. A planning com-
mittee was created to explore op-
tions for future infrastructure needs.
Committee members will include
Matt Norby, Alex Schmaltz, Jim
Vannett, Bob Kraus and community
members to be determined. Discus-
sion was held on the NDSBA hand-
book service. It was decided to util-
ize that service for a support staff
handbook update. Bid will be going
out for a new school bus. Business
Manager evaluation will be complet-
ed by all board members and Mr.
Norby using the Rocky Mountain
evaluation. Information was provided
to the board members regarding tree
planting in the spring. Mr. Norby will
follow up with soil conservation.
Next scheduled board meeting will
be February 19, 2020 at 6:30 p.m.

be approximately 1400-1700 square

an Reservation. Proposals must in-
clude complete construction of new
homes hauled and set on new Foun-
dations. Proposals should not in-
clude foundations. Proposals will be

and interior, all HVAC, plumbing and
electrical except for electrical tie in,
water and sewer connections. No
