Women’s Basketball: Beavers unable to overcome big night from U-Mary’s Kinnebrew

The Minot State women’s basketball team surrendered 38 points to U-Mary’s Bergen Kinnebrew in a 79-64 loss to the Marauders at the Minot State University Dome on Saturday, Jan. 3. The Beavers jumped out to a 12-11 lead at the end of the first quarter, but were outscored by 17 in the second quarter to find themselves trailing 43-25 at halftime. A venue change didn’t equate to a different result for the Minot Minotauros against its rival over the weekend. Following a loss to the Bobcats in Bismarck on New Year’s Eve, the Tauros welcomed the defending NAHL champions to Maysa Arena for a weekend series to ring in 2026. The Bobcats felt right at home, sweeping the weekend with a 6-2 victory on Friday, Jan. 2, and a 3-0 win on Saturday, Jan. 3. Bismarck has won all four meetings this season. Andrew Francis won a pair of individual events and Tayson Solper claimed victory in the 1-meter diving, but it wasn’t enough for the Minot High boys swimming and diving team, as they dropped its dual meet to Bismarck Century, 112-71, at Magic City Campus on Friday, Jan. 2. Prep Gymnastics: Minot United takes 2nd at Jamestown Travel Meet

Gracyn Bergan finished third in the vault and third in the all-around and Keira Davis and Pavyn Peterson went 2-3 in the floor exercises as the Minot United gymnastics team took second at the seven-team Jamestown Travel Meet at the Jamestown Gymnastics Academy on Saturday, Dec. 3 Minot United finished with a team score of 142 points.
