Lady Knights, Bombers battle long game four contest
Trending
The final rounds of play for the District 6 play for approval to move on and seeding at the next level of play.
The first two games were done before long with Our Redeemer's and Glenburn finding a path forward while Berthold and Mohall-Lansford-Sherwood closed out their 2026 season.
Drake-Anamoose closed out the tournament as Division B, District 6 Champions over the Velva Aggies.
Our Redeemer's 3, Berthold 1
In the start of a game that appeared to swing towards Our Redeemer's, Berthold used the third set to take a 34-32 win to keep things exciting before the evening was done.
The fourth set was decided by the seven-seeded Lady Knights 3-1 over the four-seeded LadyBombers.
Set three looked to be a swap for the Berthold girls when the Bombers tied the score at 16-16, followed by a tie at 18, then 19, 20, 21, 22 and so forth to the 32-32 tie before Berthold claimed the win.
Our Redeemer's pulled the runs together in the end to take the win and advance.
The Lady Knights are well aware of their talents and strengths with long volleys ending in mistakes by opponents compared to giant kills or blocks to close out the competition. The Bombers wrapped up their season with the dramatic set four win as the high note for the contest.
Glenburn 3, MLS 1
The second-seeded Panthers withstood a stalwart effort by the fifth-seeded Mavericks for a chance to continue into post-season play with the 3-1 win in game one at the Minot Auditorium Monday evening.
The contest was hard fought in the third set with each team on a one game win streak. The Glenburn Ladies gained a slight lead 20-17 and held on to that space for the win, holding a 2-1 lead with momentum for the pivotal game four.
The final action had too many good shots down the stretch for MLS to make up the difference and said goodbye to their season in the end.
Drake-Anamoose 3, Velva 0
The top seeded Drake-Anamoose team had a short battle with cross-town rivals from the third seeded Velva Lady Aggies with the Lady Raiders taking the 3-0 win and holding the right to the top slot from District 6 going forward into the post season tournaments.
