The Minot High Majettes hosted the Williston Coyotes for a home match on Tuesday night, October 13.

The Majettes swept the Coyotes in a decisive 3-0 win, giving them their second shut out victory in a row and their fifth shut out win of the season.

Minot High’s win on Tuesday marks their fourth in the WDA this season, improving their record to 4-9 in the WDA and 11-14 on the season.

Williston struck first to kick off the first set of the night, but the Majettes were quick to take six unanswered points. After taking the lead early in the first set, the Majettes stormed through the rest of the first set, leading that latch 1-0 with a score of 25-22.

The second set went similarly to the first, with the Majettes taking and keeping their early lead through the entire set.

The Majettes worked their way up to a seven point lead, ending the second set with a score of 25-18.

Heading into the third set, the Coyotes were still determined to fight back. The two teams faced a contentious early game in the third set before the Majettes led through much of the middle.

The last few volleys found the Majettes and the Coyotes back neck and neck, but the Majettes were able to secure the 3-0 sweep with their 26-24 victory to close out the third.

The Majettes will return once again to their home court for their next match as they take on St. Mary’s on Thursday, October 15.
